ניו זילנד רחוקה מישראל, ממוקמת כמעט בקצה העולם. אין טיסות ישירות מישראל לניו זילנד ורוב הטיסות לניו זילנד יעצרו באסיה ו/או באוסטרליה לפני הנחיתה בניו זילנד. ישנן מספר חבילות טיסה היוצאות מישראל והן מבוססות על שיתוף פעולה של שתי חברות תעופה ולעיתים אף יותר.

ניתן להגיע משדות התעופה בדרום מזרח אסיה, באוסטרליה ובארה"ב (לוס אנג'לס בעיקר) לשדות התעופה בכרייסצרץ ואוקלנד. מחיר חבילת טיסה לניו זילנד נע בסביבות 1300 דולר אמריקאי ומשתנה בהתאם לעונות התיירות בשנה. ניתן גם לקנות כרטיס לבנקוק או להונג-קונג ומשם לחפש כרטיס המשך לניו זילנד. אופציה שיכולה במקרים מסוימים להיות יותר זולה.

בעזיבה יש לקחת בחשבון את מס העזיבה בסך 25 דולר מקומיים (המחיר יכול להשתנות).
